MG Restorers Association

Preserving the legend of MG through community, events, and shared knowledge

One of the mighty K3s (1932–34) like this one was the fastest car on the Mont des Mules hillclimb section in the 1932 Monte Carlo Rally breaking the class record easily. Two others took first and second places in their class in the 1933 Mille Miglia and broke all class records. With their 1087cc supercharged engines giving 120 bhp (89 kW) at 6500 rpm they were at the top of their class for the best part of two years and were amongst the most successful racing cars of all time..
Welcome to MG Restorers Association
The MG Restorers Association is Sydney based and was formed nearly fifty years ago by a number of enthusiasts whose primary aim was to promote owner restoration, preservation and maintenance of their cars as opposed to "cheque book" restoration. This goal continues to this day, however the social side of this group has grown, so that there is now a balance between technical activities and social events such as weekend and midweek runs, weekends away and extended tours.
Membership comprises a close knit group of 60 enthusiasts with MGs dating from the 1930s to modern. Within the group considerable areas of technical expertise are on tap and assisting in other members' problem solving and restorations is heavily promoted.
The benefits of membership include access to the Historic Vehicles Scheme run by Transport for NSW. No expensive journal is published. There is a nominal joining fee, and regrettably, due to the ever-rising cost of insurance, we have been obliged to introduce a modest membership subscription fee for the first time. Members are informed of forthcoming activities either by email or telephone and organisational duties are distributed throughout the membership.
The only stipulations on joining the Association are:• Ownership of an MG.• Accordance with the Constitution and Aims of the Association.• Willing to help members with their restorations • A reasonable level of attendance at various functions throughout the year.• Willing to share and participate in club duties.
